KUCHING: A 29-year-old man passed away after he and a friend managed to swim ashore when their boat capsized.
The two men from Samarahan had gone missing and were returning home at 7pm when strong winds caused their boat to capsize.
After their boat capsized they managed to swim ashore.
While they were safely on the river bank, the victim’s friend then left to seek for help.
However, when the man returned he was shocked to find his friend lifeless. The victim could have died from a heart attack.
His remains were later taken to Sarawak General Hospital’s morgue for a post mortem.
