SIBU: In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year festive season, Sibu Division Chinese Community Leaders’ Association (SDCCLA) made a visit and contributed generously to the Methodist Children Home (MCH) in Jalan Ling Wen Sun here today

Upon arrival, the Association’s Chief Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau Lee Ming handed over a cheque for RM2,000 to the MCH’s superintendent Lau Sie Tung whereas SDCCLA’s deputy head Pemanca Datuk Jason Tai Hee presented  packets of angpow)to MCH’s deputy superintendent Tie Ling Ling for distribution to the residents.

Speaking to reporters after the presentation, Temenggong Lau hoped that more other societies or organisations would also come forward to provide assistance by rendering donations.

This, he said, would ensure that MCH has enough funds to run the centre.

Nevertheless, he was glad that over the years, the Sibu community has been very helpful towards the MCH which was established in 1950.

“We hope that this kind of assistance will continue for a long time,” he added.
