KUCHING: The generous amount of contribution by Malaysia Used Vehicle Auto Parts Traders Association (MUVATA) was extended to the Salvation Army Kuching Boy’s Home and Children Home here.

In its press release, MUVATA said that the donations reflected the association’s strong social responsibility and ongoing commitment to supporting the underprivileged.

“The first ever charitable visit to East Malaysia by MUVATA, marks a significant milestone, following its previous philanthropic initiatives in various states across West Malaysia, including Selangor, Kuala Lumpur,
Johor, Penang, Kedah, Perak, and more,” it said.

It also said that the delegation, consisting of nine members, was led by president Heng Kim Siang, and the visit took place on July 24.

“The donation to the Salvation Army Kuching valued at RM11,325, included a list of items from the centre’s Wishlist, which includes, two units of 60” smart TV, two units of inverter refrigerator, seven units of microwave, 10 units of electric kettle, and five units of iron, five units of toaster and a high pressure water jet spray,” it added.

It stated that with those contributions, MUVATA aimed to alleviate the burden of relocating of the centre, while ensuring the continuity and functionality of its new premise.

“Additionally, MUVATA seeks to address the basic needs and well-being of the individuals under their care,” it added.
