BINTULU: The body of a man was found floating in a river nearby the Hock Ming factory at Jalan Sungai Nyigu.
Bintulu district police chief Superintendent Zulkipli Suhaili said the body of man was found at 2.30pm on Friday.
He said the body was discovered by members of the public who were fishing for shrimp in the area.
Acting on the report, he said a team of policemen and firefighters were despatched to the location.
“The body was found wearing a white shirt — no identification documents were found.
“An examination done on the body did not find any signs of injury; even the BCG vaccination scar could not be detected due to the level of decomposition.
“The identity of the body is not yet known. The victim has been referred to Bintulu Hospital for further action,” he added.
Zulkipli asked locals with missing family members to come forward to file a report or help identify the body by contacting Bintulu police station chief assistant commissioner Mohd Sani Junid.
