SIBU: A body of an unidentified man was found floating near Daro Wharf at Jalan Khoo Peng Loong here on Monday.

No personal identification was found on the body which was clad in a light brown shorts. However, there are tattoos on his left and right arms, the abdomen and his back.

At about 3pm on July 7, a witness, who was at the wharf together with his friend, saw the victim put a trawl at the riverbank and then jumped into the river to check his trawl. The victim did not resurface afterwards.

The witness then informed the police of the incident as he only knew of the victim who was always at the scene to drink liquor.

He also claimed that the victim was believed to be drunk. Prior to the incident, the victim had drunk some liquor.

Thus, the police have appealed to members of the public who might know of any missing person to come forward to identify the man.
