BINTULU: The body of an Indonesian man, who went missing after his boat capsized in Sungai Jelalong near SK Kuala Kebulu Jelalong Tubau on Saturday (Aug 27), has been found.

The victim, identified as Ridwan, was discovered around 9am this morning by locals about 2km downstream from the incident location.

Rescuers were immediately informed and they rushed to the scene to retrieve the body.

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the body was identified by the victim’s colleague.

It was later taken to the Tubau police station to be sent to Bintulu Hospital for further action.

On the day of the tragedy, the victim’s colleague reported that the boat the victim was in capsized while crossing Sungai Jelalong.

The victim was supposed to work on a structure at the school.
