MIRI: The body of an Indonesian man who was in a boat that capsized in Sungai Batang Suai, Niah Miri on Sunday, was found by a search and rescue team at 2.45pm today.

Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief Poh Kiong said the body of Yanto Olin, 34, was found floating five metres away from where he had fallen off the boat that was transporting oil palm to a nearby factory.

“The victim’s body was handed over to the Batu Niah Police Station for further action,” he said in a statement here this afternoon, adding that the operation was stopped at 3.30pm.

In the incident, two of his friends Suliadi Didah, 30 and Amdukos, 47, both Indonesians, were rescued by anglers who happened to be in the area. − Bernama
