MIRI: The body of an elderly man, reported missing since Friday (November 12), was found floating in Sungai Abang, Baram this morning (Nov 15).
Miri Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) zone 6 chief Supt Law Poh Kiong said the body was found by the Search and Rescue (SAR) team at 9am about 4km from where he was reported missing — in Sungai Long Tap, Akah Baram.
“The deceased was identified as Long Tap village chief, Clement Tinggang, 74,” said Law.
The body was handed over to the family for further action.
With the discovery of the body, the SAR operation officially ended at 12 pm today.
