LAWAS: The body of 29-year-old Farouk Arina Ahmad, a TM technician, has been found Tuesday night floating near the Pulau Sari Besar shore at about 11.05pm.

The body of Farouk revovered near Pulau Sari Besar.

Lawas district police chief DSP Roslan Leman said Farouk’s body was found by a team of firefighters and villagers some 450 metres from where the first body was retrieved.

The body has been handed over to the police for further action.

Three anglers had set out to sea on September 9 at 5am and failed to return by late evening.

A search and rescue mission (SAR) was mounted following a police report of the disappearance of three anglers while out fishing in Lawas waters — involving the marine police, Civil Defence Force and local fishermen as well as the maritime agency of Brunei Darussalam.

The first body of Yeo Chee Tiong, 30, a businessman, was found at 8.35 am yesterday at Sungai Labik-labik, Lawas.

Meanwhile, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations centre in a statement said the SAR operation to find the third missing angler, Mohd Amirul Bakar, 26, an enforcement assistant at the Customs Department in Lawas, resumed at 7 am today.
