MIRI: The Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) swiftly responded to a car fire involving a Toyota Vios on Jalan Medical here today (Dec 8).
Upon receiving a call about the incident at 6.45 am, Bomba dispatched a team from the Miri fire station to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team found the vehicle engulfed in flames on the side of the road and promptly initiated extinguishing operations using two auxiliary hose streams and a pump apparatus.
By 7.10 am, the team had successfully brought the fire under control, completely extinguishing it by 7.55 am. Before leaving the scene, firefighters conducted a thorough assessment and observation to ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
The incident, located 5 kilometres away from the station, involved two vehicles: a Toyota Vios and a Proton Persona. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
