Several incidents of fallen trees were reported in several areas following heavy rain and strong winds.

KUCHING: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was kept busy with several reports of fallen trees in a few areas here following heavy rain and strong winds on Monday (Oct 26).

According to the Bomba operations centre, fallen trees were reported in Kuching, Bau, Kota Samarahan and Simunjan; causing several roads to be blocked off.

As of 5.25pm, the department informed that eight roads in Kuching were affected — Jalan Batu Lintang near Kuching Water Board; Jalan Kampung Sinar Budi; Jalan Sawar, Bintawa; Jalan Dermaga (Borneo 744); the road in front of Swinburne University; near Citadines Uplands building; Kampung Semariang Haji Goebilt; and Jalan FAC Matang (the road from Telaga Air to Kuching).

Meanwhile, Bau fire and rescue station said that fallen trees were reported in three areas — Jalan Krokong, Jalan Kampung Bobak, and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Chung Hua Bau.

The department noted that fallen trees were also reported at Jalan Kampung Tanjung Parang in Kota Samarahan.
