Bomba on the lookout for floods

KUCHING: No evacuation centres were opened in Kuching, Samarahan and Sibu zones yesterday.

Despite heavy rain yesterday afternoon, there were no major floods in these areas.

According to the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) yesterday, there was only stagnant water at Jalan Masjid in Kuching due to the heavy rain.

  In Kuching, the areas monitored by Batu Lintang Bomba Station for floods included Batu Lintang Road, Stapok Road, Sg Maong Road, Desa Wira, Sinai Budi, Rantau Panjang, Pekan Batu Kawa, Stephen Yong Road,and Sandong. 

Areas monitored byTabuan Jaya Bomba Station and Padungan Bomba Station included Tun Abg Haji Openg Road, Gertak Road, Masjid Road and Datuk Ajibah Abol Road while Lundu Bomba Station was monitoring Batang Kayan.

Samarahan Bomba Station was monitoring  Simunjan areas along Sg Sadong Waterfront while Kanowit Bomba Station was monitoring SK Nanga, Balingan and Kanowit.

Song Bomba Station was monitoring Sg Rajang and Sg Katibas while Sarikei Bomba Station was monitoring Sg Rajang, Sg Sarikei, and Sg Nyelong.
