MIRI: Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) yesterday received a distribution of masks, face shields, disposable gloves, safety goggles, as well as bleach and disinfectant sprays to help strengthen the government’s efforts in fighting the spread of Covid-19.

The items were presented by Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Piasau branch chairman Datuk Sebastian Ting to Miri Bomba Zone 6 chief Supt Law Poh Kiong at Lopeng fire station here.

According to Ting, who was met after the presentation ceremony, in light of the difficulties faced by the frontliners including Bomba personnel, SUPP Piasau together with other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have come up to help and distribute these essential items.

“On Saturday, I was told by Law that Bomba Miri is facing shortage of these items, and I was surprised that it does not have any allocation to buy all these essential protection supplies and disinfectant sprays which are crucial during this challenging period,” he said.
