KUCHING: Sarawakians have been urged to take precautionary measures during the Christmas celebration and to be safe to avoid accidents from happening.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) director Datuk Khirudin Drahman said Sarawakians must be vigilant against the 3Ls – Lupa, Leka dan Lalai or forgetfulness, carelessness and negligence.
In light of the coming Christmas weekend, he also stressed on the importance of precaution, prevention and protection to make sure families are aware of the 3Ps and to practise them at home.
Khirudin added that regardless of the instructions mentioned by the authorities, it was important to avoid disasters from happening.
“Together, we play an important part to ensure they can be avoided.
“If you face a fire, immediately run from the place of incident, and fight it by trying to put it out while the fire is small and then report it immediately.”
