KUCHING: A book detailing the downfall of Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, entitled ‘Hijack in Malaysia: The Fall of Pakatan Harapan’ has hit the local bookstores.
The 205 page book which includes a special chapter on Sarawak is written by activist and former journalist Francis Paul Siah.
Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting launched the book at the Chemsain Auditorium here on Saturday.
Ting in a Forward of the book congratulated Siah for taking the initiative to compile into a book his personal and well documented notes on the 14th General Election (GE 14) and the subsequent collapse of the PH federal government within 22 months after taking over Putrajaya.
Siah, 63, is a veteran Sarawak journalist of over four decades and had served in Sarawak, Sabah and Kuala Lumpur. He still writes a regular column and contributes to several publications.
He currently heads the Movement of Change, Sarawak (MoCS), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) noted for its fierce anti-corruption stance.
Siah said his intention of writing the book was to put on record the treachery and betrayal of certain parties in the PH government.
He noted that it was a first in Malaysian history that a democratically elected government had collapsed because of internal plotting, treachery and betrayal.
“This incident must never be forgotten by Malaysian, thus this is the main purpose of the book.
“The traitors must not be supported anymore, we have to discard those traitors and ‘frogs’ into the dustbin of political history,” he said.
HIJACK in Malaysia: The Fall of Pakatan Harapan is available on sale at RM40 each. Those interested may email Siah at sirsiah@gmail.com or contact the publisher at 012-8098188.
