KUALA LUMPUR: Home-grown lifestyle e-wallet, Boost, aims to grow its customer base to 10 million by the end of next year, from around 4.8 million currently, driven by among others, three new and upgraded features to be introduced by the company.

Chief executive officer Mohd Khairil Abdullah said the target would also be driven by increasing e-wallet users among the public in shifting from the conventional ways of buying things and products.

“The buying pattern has changing, as we can see, more and more people are shifting towards e-commerce platform from the traditional buying.

“Our platform also saw average purchasing for every customer at RM258 per week currently, as compared to RM47 per week 12 months ago,” he told reporters after the launch of  three new and upgraded features on the Boost platform here, yesterday.

The features are BoostUP, its new rewards programme, CashUp, a new saving features for online shopping and UnionPay QR, which allows users to use the Boost e-wallets at UnionPay International merchants nationwide and globally.

Mohd Khairil said the new features would give everyone a better reason to go cashless and seamlessly transact, while enjoying a more rewarding cashless experience.

“BoostUP is designed to gift loyal users a more comprehensive and exciting set of prizes and an unforgettable lifestyle experience on  top of cashback. CashUp is a new saving feature that gives a boost to the online shopping experience, where users can automatically enjoy cashback from our online partners,” he added.

He said both BoostUP and CashUp function on a simple mechanism where the more customers perform transactions with Boost, the more rewards they earn, while providing them with a safe and convenient way to transact.

“The UnionPay QR payment service, on the other hand, is a new feature that will give consumers more options and greater accessibility to go cashless with ease in Malaysia and soon at 11 million UnionPay QR merchants across 31 countries.

“This will hopefully further encourage new and existing users to make going cashless a natural part of their daily lifestyle,” Mohd Khairil added. – Bernama
