KUCHING: More than 100 people attended the open day of Borneo International School (BIS) at Jalan Setia Raja here, yesterday.

Aspiring to be the leading international school in the state, the BIS is part of an educational group of international and private schools in Malaysia including Nobel International, United International, Havil International, and Legacy private schools.

Its facilities include a state-of-the-art science and ICT labs, multimedia smart board classrooms, art and music centre, two swimming pools, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, futsal ground, and indoor badminton hall.

The school, whose motto is ‘Pro Doctrina Vitae’ (Learning For Life) also organises a number of charity work and community events as part of its CSR initiatives to instill a spirit of gratitude and appreciation in the students.

In addition to that, the school provides the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) United Kingdom (UK) based education which encourages each student to grow both personally and academically.

The CIE is a programme used by more than 10,000 schools in more than 160 countries which prepares and leads students between the ages of 6 and19 years towards pre-tertiary qualifications for university and higher education.

It offers Cambridge Primary (Year 1 to Year 6), Secondary (Year 7 to Year 9), and IGCSE (Year 10 to Year 11) Curriculum.
