KUCHING: Sarawak’s bowling team is making progress in its preparation, targeting gold medals in the 21st Sukan Malaysia (SUKMA).

Robert Lu Nam Min, vice-president of the Sarawak Amateur Tenpin Bowling Association (ABAS), said that ongoing efforts are being made in selecting the final team members.

The selection process has seen seven candidates shortlisted, with the aim of finalising a team comprising six primary and six substitute players, totalling twelve.

“We’re confident in our selection progress,” Lu told New Sarawak Tribune after the Sarawak Hornbill Team Cup 2024 (SHTC24) award ceremony at Megalanes Sarawak Batu Kawa here today (Mar 9).

He noted that while some team members have been confirmed, others are still under consideration, with the head coach closely scrutinising the remaining candidates.

“Securing three gold medals is our main goal. We welcome any additional achievements,” he said.

He also reflected on the significance of dedication and hard work, encouraging the team to “give their all and strive for excellence,” and to focus on performing their best.
