KUCHING: The Information Department (JaPen) Sarawak has teamed up with Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) to stage the Malaysian Merdeka Family Adventure programme this year.
Director of Sarawak Information (JaPen), Jaafar Jantan said the State level programme could not be held for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Alhamdulillah, we (JaPen) got quite good cooperation from BPHB and Bank Rakyat to implement KMKM2022 this year and I am sure, this cooperation will not be the last,” he said during a dinner celebrating the Malaysian Family Freedom Adventure Convoy (KMKM2022) organised by BPHB at one of the hotels here, yesterday.
Jaafar at the same time also explained that as the government’s communication machinery, JaPen through 246 Malaysian Family Communities (KKM) throughout Sarawak will mobilise the community groups involved to be involved in state activities.
BPHB group CEO Datuk Mohamad Medan Abdullah hoped the collaboration will further strengthen the good relationship between the company and the department.
The convoy which arrived in Bintulu yesterday was due to continue their tour in Bintulu which is the 28th stop of KMKM2022 today (August 23) before going to Belaga in the afternoon.
