KUCHING: A local man who pleaded guilty to damaging plates belonging to his own father today was fined RM1,000 or a month’s jail.

Magistrate Zaiton Anuar ordered the 25-year-old man from Taman Mesra, Jalan Bako to be fined after pleading guilty under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

The accused admitted to breaking two plates belonging to his father causing the latter a loss of RM25.

Prior to the incident, the accused who is the complainant’s eldest son, was reportedly refused by his father for a cash request. This caused him to be disappointed and angry, thus resulting in the plate breaking incident.

The accused failed to pay the fine.
