KUCHING: The Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah has expressed his keenness to see rugby being revived back into its glory.
Speaking to members of the Sarawak Rugby Union (SRU) during his Aidilfitri Open House at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka in Petra Jaya here on Sunday, Karim said the glory of rugby in the 1960s and 1970s should not remain as mere nostalgia as he was confident that the young generation should indulge in the game well-known for its strong discipline which augurs well for the moulding of good personality and well-being of youths.
He congratulated SRU president Richard Song Swee Jin who has managed to revive SRU since his election as the new president since 17th April 2016, after SRU was dormant for quite a while.
