MIRI: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) conducted a Covid-19 logistical flight and adolescent vaccination outreach programme to the rural areas here on Monday.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the Mi-171 (M994-04) aircraft piloted by Mohd Ruzaidi Ramlee with Captain Sofian Ahmed @ Ibrahim and assisted by Muhammad Fitri Abdul Ghani brought nine personnel from the Health Ministry (MOH) to Long Seridan, Long Kevok, and Long Panai.

The flight totalling 2.5 hours took off from Miri Airport at 10.04am and arrived at Long Seridan at 10.50am to drop off 44 vaccine doses.

At 10.55am, the Mi-171 aircraft resumed its flight to Long Kevok and arrived at 11.10am to drop off 88 vaccine doses. After that, the flight continued to Long Panai at 11.15am and arrived at 11.38am.

At Long Panai, the nine MOH personnel carried out the adolescent vaccination outreach programme for 86 students there.

Upon completing the vaccination process, the Bomba aircraft carrying the nine MOH personnel and seven Bomba personnel as well as the pilot left for Miri at 3.30pm, landing safety at Miri Airport at 4.05pm.
