SIBU: The traders at Sunday market at Taman Indah here seemed to be doing brisk business.
Chairman of Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) Clarence Ting said this in a statement yesterday (Sept 12).
“Last week, the 6th week since opening on August 1, the Sunday market had the lowest turnout of visitors due to inclement weather.
“This week, with good weather, the visitors are back in big numbers. The traders seemed to be doing brisk business,” he said.
Though there are the highs and lows, perhaps the most important factor is the place is kept clean by the traders themselves, Ting said.
Thus, he said SMC will continue to monitor the cleanliness closely to ensure that the place is kept clean.
