MIRI: A Brunei man was arrested for having in his possession 64.32 grammes drugs worth RM24,000 at the Sungai Tujoh Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex, Kuala Baram late last night.
Miri district police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the suspect, aged 28, was detained at 11.40 pm yesterday by police from the district Narcotics Crime Investigation Division who stopped a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado driven by the suspect at the CIQ.
“On checking the vehicle with a Brunei registration number police found 200 blue, red, green and yellow pills believed to be Methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) drugs,” he said in a statement here this morning.
Lim said the MDMA pills were packaged in four small transparent plastic packets with each packet containing 50 tablets according to the four colours.
According to him, the passport of the suspect, who had no previous criminal record, was also seized and the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. – Bernama
