KUCHING: The month of Ramadan was further enlivened with the distribution of 500 containers of bubur kacang or mung bean porridge to the residents of Kampung Semerah Padi.

The programme named Rewang Kampungku Lit organised by the non-governmental organisation (NGO), Nexgen Petra Jaya was a success with the cooperation of the Surau Darul Ikhwan committee members.

On top of that, the programme was also attended by Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof to help in distributing the porridge to the folk here.

During the same programme, Fadillah also visited Abang Bujang Abang Shapie’e, the husband of the former women’s leader of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Samariang Branch, Sarbanun Buang, here to hand him the porridge.

“He is in a poor condition where he is unable to walk. I was notified that currently, he is awaiting the hospital’s decision on the date and procedures that will be taken,” he said when met by the media here yesterday (Apr 8).

The Deputy Prime Minister also presented a wheelchair to the 72-year-old Abang Bujang to facilitate his mobility at the event.
