KUCHING: The Sarawak Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) will be distributing “bubur lambuk” (porridge) in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan at Masjid Jamek compound here, on Tuesday (May 7).

Members of the public are invited to attend the event which is expected to be declared open by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also LAKMNS chairman.

The distribution of “bubur lambuk” is one of LAKMNS welfare activities during Ramadan and at the same time, it enables the board members to foster closer ties with the Muslim community around Kuching.

The objective of this event is to inform the public on the true meaning of “bubur lambuk” distribution during this holy month as well as to train them to respect and appreciate the blessings of Ramadan.

LAKMNS in a statement also noted that the porridge distribution for the public would be ongoing at Masjid Jamek throughout the Ramadan month.
