KUCHING: The proposed Budget 2023 will definitely propel Sarawak forward, says Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin.
The Minister for Transport emphasised that the Budget focused on looking into new sources of revenue instead of relying on conventional sources.
“This is a holistic Budget, not only for 2023 but also for the future generations,” he said when met by the media after the first day of the DUN sitting on Monday (Nov 21).
He lauded the Budget for covering all sectors while looking into every Sarawakian’s wellbeing.
“This includes various welfare assistance and the enhancement of digital infrastructure.”
Lee added that the Premier had also called on the federal government to listen to Sarawak’s voice, especially in terms of federal funding.
“To date, only RM5.3bil has been received. I agree when the Premier said that the federal government should increase federal allocation to Sarawak in accordance with what is written in the Inter-Governmental Committee (IGC).”
