KAPIT: The construction of a new building adjacent to Kapit Hospital is currently awaiting a decision from the Ministry of Health (MoH).

It was made to understand the proposed project has long been planned and submitted to MoH and the Kapit Resident Office.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Native Customs and Law), Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat said it is hoped there will be swift approval for the project due to the increasing number of patients that Kapit Hospital can no longer accommodate.

The matter was among those discussed during a meeting with the Kapit Hospital Visitor Board at Hotel Meligai’s lobby yesterday (Jan 27).

The meeting was to seek insights and advice from the Bukit Goram assemblyman on the challenges faced by Kapit Hospital.

Parking space inadequacy at Kapit Hospital, a long-standing issue, was also on the agenda.

Following the discussion, Jefferson handed over four water filter units to Kapit Hospital.

Kapit Resident Galong Luang and local associations were also present.
