BINTULU: Student Development Camp programme, which focused on developing students’ identities, skills, and leadership qualities, took place from Aug 18 to 20.
The event, held at the Lupuk Ancestor Camp in Kem Jati Diri at Lupuk Ancestor, Kampung Gatas, Miri welcomed 30 students and 10 officers from the Bintulu High Technology Training Centre (ADTEC).
One of the event’s key purposes is to identify and nurture potential leaders. This helps in selecting students for the upcoming 2023/2024 Student Representative Council.
During the event’s first day, students engaged in a hiking activity at Peliau Beach. This challenging task demanded teamwork, physical fitness, and mental resilience to overcome obstacles at various points along the trail.
Later that evening, participants took part in training sessions conducted by assigned facilitators, focusing on group activities.
The second day brimmed with camp-based activities, including ‘spider net,’ ‘flying fox,’ and ‘tree tops’ challenges. Each activity pushed participants to face and conquer their fears of heights.
On the event’s concluding day, Mechanical Department head at ADTEC Bintulu Zurina Md Amin, led the closing ceremony and congratulated the organisers and participants for the success of the Student Development Camp 2023.
She hoped that the participants would gain valuable insights from the event, and she looked forward to its continuation in the coming years.
