MUKAH: Some 70 bumiputera entrepreneurs in this division attended a talk “Entrepreneurship: Sarawak Micro Credit Scheme (SKMS)” at Dewan Suarah Mesra here yesterday.
The programme was organised by the Sarawak Malay Economy Chamber (Dekoms) in collaboration with Agrobank Sarawak Region.
It involved a talk on Dekoms organisation by its secretary-general, a meeting of Mukah Division liaison committee and a talk “Entrepreneurship: SKMS by Agrobank”.
Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo hoped the participants had gained some knowledge from the half-day programme.
“I also hope that entrepreneurs from this division can cooperate with Dekoms and learn from the chamber on how to help enhance their businesses,” he said in his text of speech read by Mukah Division Resident Hamdiah Bakir.
The assemblyman also reminded the people to always comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) following a rise in Covid-19 cases lately.
Meanwhile, Hamdiah said Covid-19 had resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths worldwide from some three million cases detected.
She therefore reiterated that the SOPs must be followed to help contain the pandemic.
According to her, the movement control order (MCO), now in the recovery phase (RMCO), affected every sector of the economy including transportation of building materials between divisions, which had directly slowed down work progress and projects.
At the event, she also witnessed the handover of Dekoms membership identification card (ID) from its president Bujang Boji Sitam to Mukah Division Dekoms chief coordinator Ali Hassan Jajol.
