KOTA SAMARAHAN: Indonesian singer and songwriter Cakra Khan captivated members of the audience during a concert here on Thursday night (Jan 26) at DeTAR Putra Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

The concert, titled “A Night to Remember with Cakra Khan” was attended by some 1,500 audience who eagerly turned up as early as three hours prior to catch a glimpse of the singer.

Members of the audience were treated to a number of hit songs, namely “Kekasih Bayangan” which Cakra is famous for; “Hal Hebat” as well as a cover of English singer Adele’s highly acclaimed song, “All I Ask”.

The concert also featured a special appearance by local singer Bob Yunus, who previously rose to fame with his own rendition of “Kekasih Bayangan” which went viral on social media platforms, with himself performing the song with Cakra, who is the original artist, on the night.

Part of the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA) Festival, the concert was jointly organised by the faculty’s student association (PERSENI) and Arts Management.

Present were Corporate Affairs and UKAS Deputy Minister, Datuk Abdullah Saidol; UNIMAS board of directors’ chairman Tan Sri Sulong Matjeraie and UNIMAS vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.

Joining them were UNIMAS deputy vice-chancellors Prof Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit; Prof Dr Wan Hashim Wan Ibrahim and assistant vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman and other dignitaries.
