KUCHING: More than 150 autistic children and individuals from Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) will be participating in the upcoming Bunny Autism Run 2023, which will be held on April 30.
Organising chairman cum secretary of KAA, Duane Reggie Tersan said that the charity run will be held starting at Kuching South City Council (MBKS) at 6.30 am.
“At this moment, there are hundreds who have signed up for the run, and in 2020, there were 3,000 people who participated in the charity run so we want to break the record for this year.
“That being said, we encourage members of the public to participate in the run and at the same time, get to know the autistic community as they will be participating in the run as well,” he said.
He also encouraged participation from both the public and private sectors as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).
He said this during the press conference for the upcoming run at the KAA centre in Kuching yesterday.
In the meantime, a roadshow for the charity in conjunction with Autism Awareness Day, which is slated to fall on April 2 every year will begin today (Saturday, February 18) at the Spring shopping mall.
“The roadshow will be held every weekend until March 26.
“Interested participants can sign up online or head to KAA’s office before March 30 2023, apart from visiting our booth at the Spring shopping mall,” he added.
For each running distance, participants may choose to sign up for any of the four categories, namely category A (medal, tee and bib) which is RM50, category B (tee and bib only) which is RM35, category C (medal and bib only) which is RM30 and category D (bib only) which is RM15.
