MIRI: A family suffered losses amounting to over RM100,000 after their residence at Bandar Baru Permyjaya in Miri was broken into early yesterday morning.
Members of the family only realised their house had been broken into when they woke up at around 7 in the morning. Their main door was wide open.
According to a source, they immediately found out that their family car, a Toyota parked at the front of their house, was believed stolen by the thief or thieves.
“Also missing was a handbag containing an undisclosed amount of cash, a handset and some important documents belonging to family members,” said the source.
He pointed out that the criminals were believed to have broken into the house by forcing open its main door while the residents were sleeping in their own bedrooms.
“Subsequently, head of the household immediately lodged a police report at the nearest police station for further action,” he said.
