MIRI: A fisherman has been remanded for four days to assist in police investigation into a burglary case that occurred in Piasau Utara 3C on Sunday.

The remand order was issued by the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The accused aged, 23, was arrested by the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team on Tuesday afternoon at a house in Jalan Piasau Utara following a report lodged by the complainant.

The case investigating officer Inspector Mohammad Nasriq Noring had applied for a seven-day remand under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code on the accused to complete the investigation.

In the incident, a total of RM775 in cash was stolen from the premises.

This was realised by the 21-year-old complainant around 6.54pm on Sunday (April 7).
