SIBU: A male cook in Kapit suffered from serious burns on his skin after accidentally sprinkled with hot oil while cooking on Friday.
The victim endured about 20 percent of burns on his face and chest. Due to the severity of his condition, his friend sent him to the Kapit Hospital for immediate treatment.
After medical assessments, the 48-year-old cook from Sungai Salim here had to be referred to the Sibu hospital to receive proper care.
The cook was immediately transported to Sibu on the same day by an express boat and was admitted to the Sibu Hospital for further treatment and observation.
As of today, the victim was reported to be in stable condition. The exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.
