LIMBANG: A businesswoman lost RM1,948.70 worth of belongings and goods after her grocery shop in Rangau Housing Estate here was broken into recently.Limbang District Police chief, Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the victim discovered the break-in at 8.00am.
Upon checking her belongings and goods, he said the victim found several bottles of shampoo, several cans of sardine, a television set, 24 cans of alcoholic drinks, CCTV camera and other items were missing.
Mohd Bukhori said acting on information received, two men aged 26 and 25 from Kampung Buangsiol and Oya were detained.
He said police also seized a 38 inch television which was reported as stolen goods.
“The suspects, who are unemployed, are tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he added.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man from Kampung Agong Tua, was arrested by police during an operation at Jalan Medamit on Wednesday night.
Mohd Bukhori said while inspecting the suspect’s car, police found several straw tubes filled with crystalline substance, believed to be syabu, weighing 15.30 grammes and worth RM1,800, hidden in a white container near the handbrake.
“The suspect has been tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine and he will be remanded today to assist investigation under Section 39A(1) and 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952,” he said.
