SRI AMAN: Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister and Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis last Friday visited various sites to monitor the progress of the projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

Among the sites he visited were those involving the proposed access road and suspension bridge at Rh Daniel Lawi in Guntong Ulu; the proposed upgrading of bypass road near Ulu Paku junction in Kenyungan; proposed access road, culvert installment and suspension bridge at Rh Sherit in Titikah; the proposed pedestrian walkways with roofing, four car parks with roofing, four units of air conditioner and three units of new doors (two for the laboratory; one for hall) at SK Klassen; proposed access road to Rh Lina in Bayai C and proposed concrete bridge at Sungai Batang Undop in Kampung Sengelau.

Also present during the visits were Public Works Department (JKR) Sri Aman assistant engineers Shahbuddin Abu Bakar, Pegie Wau and Nor Aini Ahmad, general engineers Michelle Kristie Felix and Galvinor Indit as well as foremen Frederick Jonathan Isau.

Harden reminded the contractors to ensure the projects were implemented according to the terms and conditions agreed upon.

The contractors were also reminded to safeguard the performance of their respective companies by adhering to the construction deadlines to avoid delays and to the detriment of the people in need of development.

Harden added that the people should be grateful and thankful to the state government under the leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) coalition party for truly transforming the rural areas.
