LUBOK ANTU: A cleanliness, health, safety and environment programme, known as the K3AS programme, was organised by Lubok Antu – Engkilili District Council (MDLA) recently.

It took place at Rumah Keneddy Imau, an Iban longhouse at Langkang Ulu, Batang Ai last Saturday and was officiated by Community Well-being Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.

Staff of the Sri Aman fire and rescue station gave a talk and demonstration on fire preventive measures while the Sri Aman health office provided health check-ups and the MDLA environmental cleanliness section gave a talk on waste management.

Harden congratulated the organisers for the event which brought a positive impact to the local community.

“The team’s hard work showed high commitment and seriousness in providing these services to the community,” he said.

During the event, he also approved the 2020 Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation of RM5,000 to Rumah Kennedy Imau Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and RM3,000 to the Women Bureau to fund the association’s activities.

Also present were MDLA acting secretary Tommy Laman, MDLA deputy chairman Cr Agas Thomas, organising chairperson Cr Roland Kadir and Sri Aman District Council deputy chairman Cr Andar Suntai.
