KUCHING: Shoppers are invited to visit and shop at the ‘Buy Malaysia Products’ carnival to be held at the MJC Batu Kawah here from tomorrow until Oct 20.
Lucky shoppers stand a chance to win the grand prize of a Perodua Axia car and a SYM SM Sport R110 motorbike. There will also be other lucky draws during the carnival.
“Anyone who purchases from any of the vendors at the carnival and issued with a single receipt for total amount of between RM50 and RM100 shall be entitled to one lucky draw coupon.
“A single receipt for total amount of more than RM100 of purchase from the stalls shall be entitled to two lucky draw coupons,” said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Deputy Minister Chong Chieng Jen.
Throughout the three-day carnival, he said the ministry’s officers would have a counter at the carnival to give out the lucky draw coupons in exchange for the receipts produced. The closing date for the lucky draw shall be on the last day of the carnival at 8pm when the draw will start.
Chong said the carnival is to create greater public awareness on buying local products so as to help develop local entrepreneurs, reduce exchange outflow and boost the local economy.
He said many daily essentials such cooking oil, sugar and flour would also be sold at “much reduced prices at certain times during the carnival”.
