SELANGOR: BYLC (Borneo Youth Leadership Conference) is back, only this time, it shifts its attention to empowering delegates with the knowledge on how to monetize their dreams.
‘Creating Tomorrow’s Leaders, by Empowering Today’s Youth’ is the war cry of one of the biggest youth conferences in Borneo, and this year it’s theme is ‘Pursuing Your Passion.’ BYLC 2017 takes place in Kuching, Sarawak from the 13th of September 2017 to the 16th of September 2017.
To suit the theme, conference organisers have revised their approach, placing more emphasis on application and engagement, and ensuring that their speakers come from diverse backgrounds.
The star-studded speaker panel includes, Zee Avi, Malaysian Singer and Songwriter, Ann “Athena” Osman, Professional MMA Fighter, Phat Fabes, Radio DJ and TV Host, and Shanjhey Kumar Perumal, Award Winning Film Maker.
To enhance the learning experience, the conference has also employed the expertise of Wesley Chan, Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Master Coach, Wijen Randhawa, Certified Corporate Trainer by Deloitte United Kingdom, Sharma Kumari, Talent Development Consultant & Trainer, and Harrison Yusof, Learning & Development Consultant.
“What is exciting about BYLC 2017 is that this year we are going with a whole new approach, providing more opportunities to our delegates to apply themselves and learn the traits required to pursue their dreams with greater efficacy. We have pushed the envelope with our speaker panel, that comprises of young, successful and relevant personalities that will have a great impact on this year’s delegates,” said Vinodh Menon, Founder of the Borneo Youth Leadership Conference at the BYLC 2017 Press Conference.
This is a year of ‘firsts’ for BYLC, as it is the first time the conference is being supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, and partnering with Leaderonomics, a renowned Malaysian Training Provider.
Although the conference has built a reputation in 19 countries worldwide, conference organisers aim to add to this list by engaging with international organisations such as MUNPlanet.com, a global network of conference seeking individuals to boost their foreign participation.
“Our motto is to build on our success and to outdo previous installments of BYLC. By creating partnerships with external organisations we are confident that we will be able to enhance the quality of our overall offering and ensure the continued growth of the conference,” added Vinodh Menon, Founder of the Borneo Youth Leadership Conference at the BYLC 2017 Press Conference.
Among other notable changes is the conference shifting its base to Kuching, Sarawak. As with previous years, the conference agenda will include outings purposed to showcase Sarawak’s many tourist attractions.
The change came about as conference organizers wanted to introduce other parts of Sarawak to the world and to benefit various communities within Sarawak.
“We have been in discussion with the management of Borneo Youth Leadership Conference and have flirted with the idea of collaborating with them for several years now. This year everything clicked and we are excited to be a part of BYLC.
With our experience and proven track record, we bring with us learning modules that will greatly impact the delegates of BYLC 2017, aiding them in their way towards realizing their dreams,” said Aaron Tang Shen Lee, Head of Campus at Leaderonomics.
As Malaysia moves towards creating more entrepreneurs among its youth, BYLC aims to compliment this noble ambition, by prodding its delegates to look at their ambitions as more than just hobbies, instead, to pursue them with conviction.
“BYLC is an apparatus that enables us to educate the youth of today to look at their dreams as more than just frivolous wants. Particularly in today’s world, where possibilities are endless, we believe that by employing technological advancements, and applying the traits that one learns along the way, students can turn their passions into enterprises that will benefit their communities in a big way,” said Weini Tan, Business Development Manager of Sarawak Convention Bureau.
BYLC is open to those between the ages of 17 to 25yrs and interested applicants can submit their application via their official website at www.bylc.global.
Conference fees start at RM 1,500 for East Malaysians, RM 2,000.00 for West Malaysians and RM 3,000.00 for Non-Malaysians. The conference fee paid by delegates includes, accommodation, travel within Kuching, five meals per day, fun outings, and BYLC goodies.
