SIBU: The committee for the Selangau Rafting Challenge 2022 has been asked to carefully plan the event to ensure its success.
Tamin assemblyman, Ir Christopher Gira Sambang, made the call in his Facebook posting on Thursday.
According to Gira, commitment from all parties, including the secretariat, those responsible for the site preparation, exhibition, cleanliness, safety and so on was required for the event to run smoothly.
“This programme will be a benchmark for all parties and the local community to implement larger events in the future,” he said.
Gira added that various events and competitions planned by the organiser of the programme included the Selangau Beauty Queen Competition 2022, Selangau Talent Karaoke Competition 2022, tug of war competition and Futsal and Darts Competition.
Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) has chosen Selangau as the co-organiser to organise the ‘Selangau Rafting Challenge 2022’.
SRDC’s acting secretary, Chiong Siew Ping said that the programme would be held from July 27 to July 30, 2022 in Selangau town.
Various main committees such as the secretariat, sub-committee as well as programme coordinators have been appointed and formed.
The Selangau Rafting Challenge 2022 is one of the programmes organised in conjunction with the Selangau Festival.
