AZIZUL Annuar Adenan (Tanjung Datu-GPS) called for basic infrastructure projects in the constituency which is geared to be tourism area, to be expedited.
He said under the water supply and electricity programmes, a sum of RM156 million will be allocated in 2024.
“My neighbour here, member from Opar and I had wished the 50 Million Litres Per Day (MLD) Sebandi water treatment will be included or approved under the mid-term review of the 12th Malaysia Plan; with this project approved, I believe there would be no more water woes in both our constituencies.
“Secondly, particularly under the electricity programme, my constituency has been facing constant blackouts and this incident would also affect the telco lines on the area.
“This is because the equipment on the towers are powered by the same line.
“I hope the government can look into this issue and maybe increase the power load to my area as there are many government as well as private projects coming into my area,” he said in his debate speech on the 2024 State Budget at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting here, on Wednesday.
As for the state budget, he is confident the state will exceed the projected economic growth of between 5 and 6 per cent.
“Our Premier has a vision and farsightedness to propel Sarawak into a developed state by 2030,” he said.
