KUCHING: The Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank is appealing to all blood donors to come forward to ensure continuous and sufficient blood supply for patients.
SGH’s head of the Transfusion and Blood Bank Service Department, Mohamad Borhan Ahmad Ulis said the SGH blood stock was currently at a safe level.
However, a decrease in the blood supply was expected during the forthcoming Christmas holidays.
Hence, donors are encouraged to help maintain the blood stock.
Mohamad said the Blood Bank Mobile Unit would be available at Dewan Perkasa, Level 3, Wisma Kastam, Medan Raya in Petra Jaya from 9am to 1pm on Wednesday (Dec 23).
“The unit will also be at Dewan Kenyalang, Level 1, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) at Jalan Isthmus from 9am to 1pm on Thursday (Dec 24),” he said in a statement.
On Saturday (Dec 26), the unit will be at the ground level of The Spring Shopping Mall from 10am to 3pm.
“The last stop will be at Level 1, Aeroville Mall at Jalan Stutong Baru on Sunday (Dec 27), from 9am to 2.30pm,” added Mohamad.
