KUCHING: Minister of Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi and his delegation recently made an official visit to the University of Waterloo in Canada, known as a leading institution in water technology and management.
The primary focus of the visit was to explore bilateral cooperation between the ministry and the University of Waterloo.
Both parties have a discussion focused on how the university could support Sarawak in upgrading its water supply systems by offering guidance on advanced technology and sharing expertise in water management.
This initiative aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff within Sarawak’s water supply agency, particularly in management.
The Sarawak delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Bressma Momani, vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo, along with other senior university officials.
Both parties also expressed optimism about the potential collaborations, which could lead to significant improvements in Sarawak’s water supply infrastructure.
Accompanying Julaihi were Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil and Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (Public Health & Housing), Datuk Michael Tiang.
