MIRI: Two men suspected to have broken into a parked car and carted away its valuables inside, were arrested in two separate locations on Wednesday.
The alleged burglary incident happened in front of a house at Taman Raja on Monday.
It was reported that several items inside the car, had gone missing. Among them were three passports, rings, chains, phones and watches.
The suspects were arrested by a Miri CID team in an operation dubbed ‘Op Aidilfitri/Op Pintu’ at 8.35pm and 9.05pm respectively.
Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol who confirmed the arrest, said the first suspect was arrested in a budget hotel at Jalan Teochew while, the second suspect was nabbed in a hotel at Jalan Sylvia.
In the operation, the team managed to confiscate several items such as clothing apparels, wallet, phones and bags.
Both suspects aged 32 and 27, were taken to the police station for further actions.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for motor vehicle theft.
