KUCHING: A fire this morning destroyed a car which was parked in front of a house at Lorong Bentara 2 in Kampung Semariang Jaya.
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson, they received a distress call regarding the incident at 5.13am.
“Firemen managed to put out the fire at 5.37am.
“The interior of the vehicle was 100 per cent destroyed,” he added.
The cause of the fire and the estimated loss are still under investigation.
Meanwhile, another car caught fire in Bintulu yesterday, right in front of a shopping mall at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi.
According to the report, they received a distress call about the incident at 8.19pm.
The firemen managed to put out the fire at 8.36pm.
The vehicle’s engine compartment caught fire, however no injuries were reported during the incident.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, as is the expected loss.
