BINTULU: A 64-year-old man died while his wife and daughter were injured after the car they were travelling crashed near Kidurong/Samalaju traffic light intersection on Sunday.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department head Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident happened at 3.30pm.
The deceased has been identified as Low Tze Hian.
“Low died on the spot while his injured wife and daughter were taken to Bintulu Hospital for treatment,” he said.
Alexson added that prior to the collision, Low’s 25-year-old daughter suddenly lost control of the car before it skidded on a sharp bend at the traffic light.
The three were on the way to Bintulu from Miri.
The impact of the crash caused Low to thrown out of the car and landed on a grassy area by the roadside.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
