SARATOK: Seven individuals sustained injuries after their car skidded and crashed at Jalan Simpang Kaki Wang in the SAPOM housing area today (June 9).

A 57-year-old woman was trapped in the front passenger seat, while the other six were rescued from the wrecked vehicle by members of the public.

The identities and the extent of injuries of the freed individuals were unknown. They were taken to Saratok Hospital by ambulance.

Firefighters from the Saratok station were promptly dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 12.23 pm.

Upon arrival, they assessed the situation and extricated the trapped victim using rescue tools.

Once freed, she was handed over to the emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) and transported to the hospital.

The operation ended at 12.55 pm.
