KUCHING : A car passenger was killed after the vehicle he was in collided with a four wheel drive at Km 76, Kuching-Sri Aman Road on Monday night.
The accident happened at about 8.10pm when the car driver from Sri Aman lost control and went into the
path of four wheel drive. Both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions.
Due to the impact of the collision, the front portion of the car was badly damaged.
Both drivers were saved by passers-by but the passenger in the front seat of the car died.
Thomas Inggol anak Unggau, 42, from Kpg Belimbing, Serian, who was stuck in the car, sustained neck and leg injuries. Both legs of a 17-year-old passenger at the back of the car were broken. He and the drivers of both vehicles were rushed to the Serian Hospital.
According to the Head of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Traffic Act, 1987.
