SERIAN: Caroline Cleophas Joseph has been appointed as the new Serian Resident, replacing the former Resident, Selamat Jati Yanjah.
The signing of handover of duties ceremony took place at the Serian Division Resident Office recently.
Selamat, who held the position as Resident since 2022, will begin his new role as the deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS) effective July 25.
Meanwhile, Caroline previously served as the Deputy Resident since June 2022 and is the first Bidayuh woman to hold the position of Resident.
The ceremony was also attended by approximately 40 government officials from the Serian Division Resident Office, Serian District Office, Siburan District Office, Tebedu District Office, and Balai Ringin Sub-District Office.
